In 2018, a couple embarked on a new adventure in Southern Oregon after a transformative few years.

Lisa Lee — a cancer survivor and mother of three — and her husband, Steve, an experienced fireplace expert and contractor with over 30 years in the industry, dreamed of opening a unique fireplace and home decor store in the beautiful Rogue Valley. Their journey took them from Oregon to California and back, until it brought them to their next chapter—the opening of Warmth Fireplace Home Hearth in Phoenix.

A Desire For Adventure

Steve, a passionate mountain biker who frequently raced in the Ashland mountains, had long desired to move to Southern Oregon. The economic downturn of 2008, however, prompted the family to relocate to California.

In 2018, they moved to Central Point and started Southern Oregon Hearth, providing warmth for customers in the valley for five years until they found the perfect building in Phoenix, which became home for Warmth Fireplace Home Hearth in 2024.

“Warmth Fireplace Home Hearth is not just a place to buy fireplaces, wood, pellet, and electric stoves. It has evolved into a fun shopping destination that also offers home decor, small furniture and eclectic gifts,” said Lisa.

Lisa, who also has a background in jewelry design and upcycling clothing, thoughtfully sources unique, small-batch artisan products for the shop. Customers are often surprised by the carefully curated selection, which includes kitchen items and one-of-a-kind pieces, as well as larger installations like custom indoor and outdoor fireplaces.

The Right Place, The Right Time

In addition to her entrepreneurial adventures, Lisa’s personal journey has deeply influenced her vision for the store and the community. Having survived cancer and gone into remission, Lisa dreams of giving back, hoping to establish a nonprofit organization that supports others, particularly mothers facing cancer.

“My experience opened my eyes to the lack of resources available for people in my age group,” she said. Lisa hopes to address this gap through future charitable efforts.

For the couple, the move back to Southern Oregon has been a return to a place they love, filled with outdoor recreational opportunities and a sense of peace they couldn’t find in a larger city.

Their store proudly embodies their commitment to the community and their desire to make a meaningful impact. Beyond selling fireplaces and home goods, they aspire to contribute to the local area in lasting ways.
